What is a Functional Capacity Assessment?
A Functional Capacity Assessment is a detailed evaluation completed by an Occupational Therapist to understand how a person's disability affects their ability to complete everyday activities.
What Does the Assessment Include?
- Discussion about your goals and daily routines
- Review of medical history and available reports
- Observation of everyday activities
- Assessment of mobility, transfers, personal care and domestic activities
- Assessment of communication, cognition and problem-solving where relevant

Who Needs a Functional Capacity Assessment?
An FCA may benefit participants who are applying for the NDIS, preparing for a plan review, seeking additional funding, experiencing changes in health or disability, requiring assistive technology evidence or needing recommendations for SIL or other supports.
What Happens After the Assessment?
Our Occupational Therapist prepares a comprehensive report outlining current abilities, support needs, disability impact, goals, clinical observations and recommendations.
